Calls for sacking of Minister for transport - Ghana

On Saturday 16th September, the commission investigating the case of Dr Anane, the minister for roads and transport, have ruled perjury and twisting of the truth by the Minister.

There have been calls for Dr Anane's dismissal ever since he gave his mistress, a Ms O'Brien, an American an amount of $30,000. The commission felt there was a conflict of interest when it found Dr Anane had employed her at the expense of the state.

Furthermore, Dr Anane's personal assistant, Mr Duodu-Bonsu has admitted remitting closer to $100000 to Ms O'Brien after she had an affair with Dr Anane at an Aids conference in the US earlier this year.

Ms O'Brien then got pregnant and had a boy who is the son of the Minister.

The case ensues as the commission hears from legal counsel for Dr Anane on the $100000 and the free Ghana airways ticket Ms O'Brien tried to reclaim.
